{sewing} The Susie Blouse by Sew Over It

Oh, I've let the posts lapse again... I know, I'm rubbish. But, to be fair, I don't get anywhere near as much sewing time as I'd like. So when I get some free time I'd rather be sewing, not typing up a blog post. Yes, I've said it. I'm not even sorry. ;)
Anyway, today I'm showing off my Sew Over It Susie Blouse.

Isn't she chic? I'm stupidly proud of this one! It's a very loose-fitting blouse without any kind of closure (YES!) but it's still very elegant and feminine. There are 3 sleeve variations: short, 3/4 or long, which is the one I chose.
I cut a straight size 10 and I'm very happy with the fit. My only issue with it is that the shoulder seam is sitting about 1cm back from where it should. But, as you can see, it doesn't affect the fit anywhere else. The neckline still sits nice and flat, and everything looks as it should.

The fabric is part of the latest episode in the series "Fabworks Strikes Again". In this instalment, we're looking at the most gorgeous cotton lawn. It's soft, silky and there's a bit of a sheen to it, but it behaves incredibly well! I loved it so much I've already used up the leftovers as another top. Keep an eye out for it.

I definitely recommend this pattern. The instructions are great and the end result is even better. I will definitely be making more of them very soon. And with all the sleeve variations it is an incredibly versatile pattern that can be worn throughout the year.

On a side note, Me Made May is being an absolute blast! I'm keeping up with it very well and I've got way more "me made" items than I'd realised. I've got a special Flickr album just for my Me Made May challenge photos so far. I'm really enjoying finding LOADS of new people to follow on instagram as well. So glad I decided to take part.

See you next time.
