{Sew Over It} Watermelons Lizzie Skirt

I know it's now October and the weather is starting to turn. But my Brasilian side would be getting ready for summer right about now. So today I'm sharing a very weather innapropriate tropical looking project.
It's my Lizzie Skirt from Sew Over It.

This was a super simple project and I got it done in an afternoon. It's a very straight forward pleated skirt, with pockets (yes!) and there's an optional lining, too. I didn't line this one - didn't see the benefit this time around. But I want to make a wintery version so I'll definitely be lining that.

The fabric is the same as the cropped top from this post. I cut a size 10, my normal size with them. The fit is perfect and I love the pairing of the skirt with the cropped top, actually. Even if it is a little over the top. Maybe a solid set next time? I bet a  nice basic black one would be lovely... So many plans, definitely not enough time. Ack!

The closure is an invisible zip and a hook and bar on the waistband.
I don't have a lot more to say about this one other than I really love it, can't wait to wear it some more next summer and I'll definitely be making more of it soon.
